OBIT PRILLAMAN, NELSON AMOS
PRILLAMAN, Nelson Amos, 71, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, February 26,
1994 in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during
World War II. Mr. Prillaman was a member of First Wesleyan Church and the
Gideon Roanoke Valley Camp. He was a retired teacher with the Franklin County
School system. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Mary Young Prillaman;
daughters and sons-in-law, Cecelia Prillaman DeLong, Roanoke, Sherryl
Prillaman and William P. Hankins, Forest, Elizabeth Prillaman and William L.
Hatley, Norwood, N.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald N. and Doris Byer
Prillaman, Salem, Gene M. and Barbara France Prillaman, Richmod, Charles E.
and Barbara Heywood Prillaman, Portsmouth, RI; six grandchildren; brothers, I.
Clay Prillaman, Silver Spring, MD., J. Wendell Prillaman, Roanoke, Glenn M.
Prillaman, Callaway; sister, Lucy Lee Prillaman, Callaway.; a number of
nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials may be made to the Gideon Memorial
Bible Fund. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at First Wesleyan
Church by the Rev. James R.Harrison and the Rev. Jerry W. Young. Interment
will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel.
