BLACKSBURG MAN HELD ON SEX CHARGE

A Blacksburg man was arrested Friday night and charged with the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl.

Officer C.D. Cummings was patroling the municipal tennis courts on Patrick Henry Drive about midnight Friday, according to Lt. W.D. Parks. Parks said Cummings saw two people on the courts.

Brian K. Board was arrested at the tennis courts and taken to Montgomery County Jail, Parks said. Board, 25, was held on $1,000 bond. A court date is scheduled for May 13 in Montgomery County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Parks said the girl, also from Blacksburg, was taken to Montgomery Regional Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Parks said the girl did not live near the tennis courts. He also said the girl and Board knew each other.
