EPPERLY 19TH IN SOUTHEAST REGIONALS

In Morgantown, W.Va., Radford University's Christie Epperly placed 19th in the Southeast Regional Gymnastics Championship at West Virginia University Coliseum on Saturday. It was the highest finish ever for a Radford gymnast.

Epperly, a junior, scored a 9.725 in the floor exercise, also a Highlanders best, and had an overall score of 36.925. The Cave Spring High graduate had a higher overall score last year (37.425) but placed 21st.

Radford freshman Michelle Libero scored 36.175, placing her 23rd in the field of 49 competitors.
