Justin Sigmon was 2-for-4 and drove home Scott Lynch with a fielder's choice in the bottom of the eighth to win the game for Franklin County (5-2 overall, 3-0 RVD).

At Pearisburg, Scott Phipps struck out 15 in seven innings and allowed three hits to lead Tazewell to an 8-1 victory over Giles. Tazewell is 2-0. Chris Albert hit a solo home run for Giles (2-4).
At Northside, Mark Freeland (2-1) pitched a three-hitter through six innings and struck out eight to lead Northside to a 10-6 victory over William Fleming. At the plate for the Vikings (5-1-1), Scott Booth was 3-for-3 with two RBI, Brian Sells was 2-for-2 with one RBI and Nick Gibson was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

At Wytheville, Daniel Fisher scored two goals to lead Christiansburg to a 4-0 victory over George Wythe.
At Bedford, Lee Fisher and Khoa Tran each scored goals for Liberty (3-1 overall, 3-0 Seminole District) in its 2-1 victory over Nelson County.
At Dublin, Gregg Adamo had two goals to help Blacksburg beat Pulaski County 4-1. The Indians are 5-0-1; Pulaski County is 0-3.
