ONASSIS RECOVERING FROM ULCER SURGERY

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis will remain in a hospital for several days after surgery for a bleeding ulcer, a spokeswoman said Saturday.

"She's doing well. She's snapped back," Nancy Tuckerman said.

The former first lady, who also is suffering from cancer of the lymph system, underwent surgery Thursday after doctors discovered her stomach ailment during routine tests, Tuckerman said.

Onassis was visited Friday by her children, John Kennedy Jr. and Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. She disclosed in February that she was suffering from a form of lymph system cancer called non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Her treatment for the cancer was almost complete, Tuckerman said.
