Spirit Wind Ministries of Floyd will hold its third annual SPIRIT WIND ANNUAL TREK - a benefit bicycle tour - May 21 at Shot Tower State Park, Austinville, just off Interstate 77 in Wythe County. Presbyterian Church of Radford is collecting receipts from Food Lion dated May 2, 3 or 4 to benefit the Daily Bread meals program. Drop off receipts by Monday. Sign your name and write "Food Lion" on the back.
During 1993 Daily Bread, the hot lunch program run by volunteers from many Pulaski area churches, served 27,685 meals to people who might not otherwise have had one. More than 159,400 meals have been served at Daily Bread since its beginning in the spring of 1987, reports Lynda S. Semones, director of the program housed at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Pulaski.
