WOMEN IN SCIENCE CHAPTER FORMING

A Virginia Chapter of the American Chapter of the American Association for Women in Science is being formed in the New River Valley and Roanoke. Once established, membership will be open to anyone in Virginia.

AWIS is a national organization which promotes educational and job opportunities for women in all fields of science, including natural science, physical sciences, math, engineering and the social sciences. Nationwide, there are more than 50 chapters with 4,500 members. Activities include networking, educational programs, publications and speaking out for women in science.
