\ PFC. MICHAEL BRIAN MILLS, son of Richard L. and Emily T. Mills of Roanoke County, recently graduated from Marine basic training at 29 Palms, Calif.
He will be stationed at Camp Lejuene, N.C., for the next two years.
\ PVT. ANDREW R. LEWIS recently completed Marine recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
Lewis is a 1993 graduate of William Byrd High School.
\ STAFF SGT. MONICA C. ZILLS, daughter of John T. Chitwood of 4625 Jacklin Drive and Margaret D. Chitwood of Rocky Mount, have been awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.
The medal is given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service to the Air Force.
Zills is a 1978 graduate of Franklin County High School.
