STABBED MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

RADFORD - The Radford man stabbed earlier this week in a domestic dispute has been charged with assault and battery of his wife, police said.

Warren Harding Vicars Jr., 40, was charged Thursday after he was released from Radford Community Hospital for treatment of a knife wound to his left side.

His wife, Rita Dawn Vicars, 35, was charged Tuesday with maliciously wounding her husband after police were called to a domestic dispute at Lot 20 of Rustic Village off Staples Street.

Chief A.C. Earles said Friday that further investigation revealed evidence that Rita Vicars was assaulted by her husband and retaliated by using the knife.
