BUCHANAN COUNTY MAN KILLED IN TRUCK CRASH

A Buchanan County man died Friday night when the pickup he was driving ran off a highway in Tazewell County.

State Police said the pickup rounded a curve on Virginia 61 at a high rate of speed and hit two trees.

Alvin Todd Ritchie, 27, of Keen Mountain died at the scene of the 9:50 p.m. accident. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt.
