BAYSE, Mary Jane, 80, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 29, 1994. She was the widow of Buford B. Bayse and a member of the Southview United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bayse is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Barbara Bayse, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Ray and Vetta Bayse, Hardy, David C. Bayse, Roanoke; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret J. and Jake Robertson, Roanoke; brother-in-law and wife, Benalder and Estell Bayse, Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Bayse, Salem, and Estell Turner, Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 1994 at Oakey's North Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Washington officiating. Burial to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 1994 at Southview United Methodist Church, with the Rev. George M. Pearson Jr. officiating. Friends ma y call Friday at Oakey's North Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
CAMPBELL, Zack, 71, of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 1994. He was born March 27, 1923, in Blacksburg, Va. the son of the late Zack Campbell Sr. and Pearl Christian Campbell. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Magazine St., Pulaski; a former employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. He is survived by two sons, Jerry Campbell of Roanoke and Deon Campbell of Pulaski; two daughters, Brenda Saunders of Rocky Gap and Rosemary Robinson of Cleveland, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 2, 1994, 1p.m. at First Baptist Church, Magazine St., Pulaski with the Rev. Anthony Daniels officiating. Burial will be at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends on Friday July 1, 1994, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Penn's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
CARTER, Earl M., 85, of Roanoke, and a resident of National Elks Home, Bedford, Va. died Wednesday, June 29, 1994. Mr. Carter a member of Longwood Avenue Baptist Church, Bedford and a former member of Garden City Baptist Church, Roanoke also a member of Roanoke Elks Lodge # 197. He was retired from American Viscose with 32 years service and also from Wrenn Lumber Company. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Claude and Nancy Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Nelle and Phillip Noell; two grandchildren, Sarah C. Dooley and Jonathan P. Noell; a great-grandson, Joshua K. Dooley; a sister, Elizabeth C. Manuel; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a special friend, Carrie C. Scott. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 1994, with the Rev. Don McCaskill and Rev. Rex F. Adkins officiating. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

ROWLAND, Charles Edward, 61, of Hardy, died Thursday, June 30, 1994, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran and owned and operated Active Enterprises Plumbing and Heating. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry B. Sr. and Ivy H. Rowland and a brother, Leonard F. Rowland. Surviving are his wife, Lois Powers Rowland; a son, Michael S. Rowland, Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela R. and Bruce O. Plaster, Roanoke; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry B. Jr. and Betty R. Rowland, Roanoke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hubert N. and Leah C. Powers, Vinton. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 1994, with the Rev. Philip E. Day officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
