As he started to thank his crew over the public address system, he forgot their names.
Lynch, driving a Chevrolet, led the entire 75 laps of the Late Model Stock Car feature race for his second win in as many weeks. Lynch won his first Late Model Stock Car race ever on June 25. Saturday night, he won his first pole.
Rodney Cundiff, a seven-time winner this season, placed second. Cundiff qualified sixth and moved up to second on lap 12, but he never could overtake Lynch.
"Six-Pack [Cundiff] was close as I wanted to see him," Lynch said. "Every time I looked in my mirror and saw that black Ford I knew I had my race cut out for me."
Said Cundiff, "We couldn't keep up with [Lynch] tonight. I've got to hand it to the boy."
Bobby Radford, Carl Dadian, and Dudley Lawhorn finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
In other races Saturday night:
Blue Ridge's Steve Lam won his 12th Mini Stock race of the season, advancing from the middle of the pack in a LeMans start. Tommy Dean took second in the 19-car field, and James Cox rallied to finish third.
Leon Dalton, who started third, won his first Street Stock race of the season. Defending champion Phillip VanDerVeer finished second, and points leader Mike Dudley placed third.
Red Hartman was the flag-to-flag winner in the Pure Stock division. Kevin Ransom and Mike Owens finished second and third, respectively.
Chad Hodges was the Rookie winner. Mike Roberts, who won last week because Hodges failed to pass inspection, took second, and points leader James Hunt was third.
Tommy Hall was the Any Car winner. Anthony Bailey and Jimmy Floyd were second and third, respectively.
All of Saturday night's races counted double points.
The next race at FCS, the Firecracker 500, will run Monday at 6 p.m. Eight divisions will be racing, and the Late Model Stock Car division will run three segments of 50, 50 and 20 laps.
