Bryson-Slomczewski

Terese Adele Slomczewski and Bryan N. (Nik) Bryson were united in holy matrimony on June 25th, 1994 at St. J ohn Lutheran Church. The service was officiated by the Reverends Mark Graham and David Delaney. Mrs. Mary Gunderson was the organist and soloist, Mr. Paul Jackson sang ``There is Love,'' during Communion. Mrs. Kelly Marks of Canton, Oh., was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Claeys, Robin Markham and Karen Morris. Gift attendant was Angela Slomczewski, and the guestbook attendant was Tiffany Hinko. The best man was Andy M. Bryson, Jr. Groomsmen were Craig Slomczewski, James Bryson and Mike Peay. Terese is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude A. Slomczewski. She graduated from Washington H.S. in Massillon, Oh., is employed by Dr. Patrick Russell, and will be attending nursing school at Virginia Western Community College this fall. Nik is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy M. Bryson, Sr. He graduated from Louisiana State University, is a free-lance pilot instructor and also teaches aviation for the Magnet School. After their honeymoon at Disney World and a cruise, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

Cooper-Cagle

Melissa Hill Cagle and Randall Brent Cooper were married June 11, 1994 in Mount Ivy Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Lindsoe. The reception was held at Chestnut Creek Country Club.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Smith of Franklin County and Mr. and Mrs. William T. Hill Jr. of Roanoke. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Cooper of Salem. The newlyweds will reside in Franklin County.

\ Harris-Battuello

Tammy Battuello and Robert Harris Jr. were married June 4, 1994 in Troutville Baptist Church by clergyman Bill Harding III. The reception was held at Best Western, The Lord Botetourt Room. The maid of honor was Teri Blackwell, friend of the bride. The best man was Robert Harris, father of the groom.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Battuello of Michigan and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Palmer of Marion, Va. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harris of Troutville, Va. The newlyweds will live in Cloverdale, Va. after the wedding trip to the Smokey Mountains.

\ Knick-Key

Lesley Ann Key and Jeffrey Scott Knick were married July 2, 1994 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Bedford by Rev. Glen Langston.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice B. Key, Jr. of Bedford. The groom is the son of Carolyn Sumner of Bedford and Larry Knick, Sr. of Lexington.

The couple will live in Bedford County.

\ Laughon-Murray

Melinda Sue Murray and Charles Joseph Laughon, Jr. were married on June 4, 1994 at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Bedford, Virginia. The Reverend Carl N. Douglass, Jr. officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. James Morris Satterfield, Jr. of Richmond and Mr. Guy Ea rnest Murray, Jr. of Bedford. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. W. D. Goode, Jr. and Mrs. Guy E. Murray, Sr., both of Bedford.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Joseph Laughon, Sr. of Bedford. He is the grandson of Mr. Ollie T. Laughon, Sr. and the late Mrs. Laughon and the late Mr. and Mrs. James S. Craghead, all of Bedford.

Jennifer Lynne Murray, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor and Mrs. John H. McKenna, sister of the groom, was the matron of honor. The groom's father, Charles Joseph Laughon, Sr. served as best man.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at historic Avenel. The couple will reside in Darien, Connecticut.

\ Mannon-Foster

RADFORD - Jamie Lynn Foster and Larry Ward Mannon were married July 2, 1994, in the Radford Church of Christ. C. E. Mannon, father of the groom, officiated the ceremony assisted by Dale Mannon, brother of the groom.

The maid of honor was Jana Foster, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Misti Mannon, niece of the groom, Andrea Stegall, Crystal Pearson, Seay Eyles, and Stacy Marzigliano, all friends of the bride. The flowergirls were Casey Slater, cousin of the bride, and Callie Morris, niece of the groom.

The best man was Lester Mannon, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Keith Morris, brother-in-law of the groom; Frank Taylor, John Woodrum, Mickey Hatcher, and Skip Bishop, all friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Jedidiah Mannon, nephew of the groom.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Foster of Radford, Va. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Mannon of Floyd, Va.

Following a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Radford.

\ Marchal-Kennedy

Kelly Florence Kennedy and Matthew Walter Marchal were married July 2, 1994 in St. Andrew's Catholic Church with Father Stephen R. Rule pre siding. A reception was held at the Elks Lodge with a cookout following at the bride's parents' home. The maid of honor was Julie Drewry, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathleen and Dorothy Kennedy, sisters of the bride, and Teresa Moore, friend. The best man was Sam Vance, friend of the groom. Ushers were Andrew Marchal, brother of the groom, and Steve Blash and Chris Ogburn, friends. The guest book was attended by Elizabeth Strawn. The bride is the daughter of Edward and Jacqueline Kennedy of Roanoke. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and Virginia Tech. She is employed as an analyst in the accounting department of Overnite Transportation Company and is completing her master's degree in business. the groom is the son of Richard and Carol Marchal of Roanoke. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School and Virginia Tech. He is currently in medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. After a wedding trip to Nova Scotia, the couple will live in Richmond.|

\ Martin-Huffman

Carol E. Huffman and Michael R. Martin were married June 25, 1994, in First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Ward officiating. The reception was held in the Atrium at the church. The bridesmaids were Lisa Linkenhoker, friend; Samatha Huffman, daughter of the bride; and Sarah Sink, friend. Flowergirl was Megan Martin, niece of the groom. The best man was William A. Martin, Jr., brother of the groom. The ushers were Patrick L. Gardner and Chad Beagle, friends. The bride is the daughter of Shelby J. Keith of Eden, N.C. She is employed by Berglund Ch evrolet. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred L. Smith of Roanoke. He is employed by AFLAC. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke.

\ Meador-Caldwell

Terri Jean Caldwell and Halsey A. Meador were married on June 4, 1994, in the presence of their families at the Vinton War Memorial, by the Rev. Nelson Harris. Following the ceremony, a reception was held for family and friends of the couple.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wade O. Caldwell of Roanoke. She is a graduate of William Fleming High School and Virginia Western Community College. She is employed by the Roanoke City Treasurer's Office.

The groom is the son of Barbara Goode Stoner and the late Halsey Meador. He is a graduate of William Fleming High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. He is employed by the Roanoke City Sheriff's Office.

Following their honeymoon trip to New Orleans, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

\ Pate-Saul

Jennifer N. Saul and Alan F. Pate, both of Boones Mill, were united in marriage Saturday June 25, 1994, at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest E. Pate in Boones Mill. The Rev. James Steele officiated at the ceremony.

The bride wore a traditional gown of silk shantung in white with a sweetheart neckline that fell to a natural waist and puff sleeves. The bodice was detailed with reembroidered alencon lace and pearls and buttons down the back. The full skirt detailed with beaded appliques and lace border extends to a court train. Her headpiece was a silk hat acented with beaded appliques, pearls and lace. She carried a cascading bouquet of roses, carnations, orchids and baby's breath.

The matron of honor was Audrey Saul, mother of the bride. The bridesmaids were Sharon Rigney and Stacey Tickle.

The best man was Forrest Pate, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Allen and Brian Saul, brothers of the bride.

The flowergirl was Whitney Clark and the ring bearer was Hunter Call.

The bride is the daughter of Audrey S. Saul and David A. Saul, both of Roanoke. She is a recent graduate of Emory & Henry College. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest E. Pate of Boones Mill. He is self-employed.

The couple will reside in Boones Mill following the honeymoon.

\ Peters-Humphries

Karen Gail Humphries and Mark Daniel Peters were united in marriage on April 23, 1994 at Vinton Church of Christ, where the Reverend Terry Hodge officiated. The reception was held at the Elk's Lodge in Roanoke.

The matron of honor was Sharon Caldwell, friend of the bride. The maid of honor was Linda Humphries, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Humphries and Lucinda Humphries, sisters of the bride, and Beth Humphries, sister-in-law of the bride.

The best man was George Peters, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Greg Peters, brother of the groom; David Caldwell, Andy Reynolds, and Wayne Keyton, friends of the groom.

Stephanie Humphries, sister of the bride, was guestbook attendant. The soloist and florist was Jeff Hicks, friend of the bride. Pianist for the ceremony was Sandy Varney.

Susan Nunn, aunt of the groom, provided wedding direction and consultation. The photographer was Greg King of King Photography. Videographers were Rick and Nancy Romanus of Blue Ridge Digital.

The bride is the daughter of Harold Humphries and Madalyn Humphries of Covington. She is a 1982 graduate of Covington High School and a 1986 graduate of Radford University. She is employed by Design Business Interiors, Inc. of Roanoke.

The groom is the son of George and Joyce Peters of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Floyd County High School and is employed by Roanoke Electric Steel in Roanoke.

After a honeymoon trip to Florida, the couple will reside in Roanoke.
