BANKRUPTCY, LOAN LENGTH ACCOUNT FOR HIGH INTEREST RATES

Q: Fifteen months ago I had to declare personal bankruptcy. Since that time, I have found a stable, excellent-paying job as well as staying current on my existing bills.

Recently I purchased an automobile from an area dealership. My car loan was spread out over five years. What bothers me is that my interst rate on the loan is 13.9 percent, which is almost double the recent rates of about 7 percent that you detail on the Money Page every Monday.
