NICHOLSON NEW RADFORD VICE MAYOR|

Bob Nicholson is the city's new vice mayor, succeeding Councilwoman Polly Corn, who had approved the change. Radford's newest councilman, Bill Yerrick, moved to appoint Nicholson, who was elected Friday on a 4-0 vote of his colleagues.

Corn was not at the brief reorganizational meeting, but Yerrick said he'd spoken with her before the meeting and that "she did endorse the nomination."

The vice mayor fills in for Mayor Tom Starnes in his absence.

Council also reappointed Roy "Bob" Lloyd as clerk of council, Judith Bruce as deputy clerk of council, and Family Practice Clinic as the city's physician. Those votes also were unanimous.

City Council's next regular meeting is set for Monday at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers.
