ALLS, Teddy Robert, 89, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, July 9, 1994 at his home. Mr. Alls was born in Blacksburg on February 7, 1905, a son of the late Ross R. Alls and Faraby Anne Robinson Alls. He was retired from V.P.I. Postal Service with more than 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kate Whitaker Alls and a sister, Pearl Lora Alls Price. Survivors include one sister, Effie A. Perkins, Fairborn, Ohio; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 1994 in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The Rev. Noah J. Underwood will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.

BECKNER, Raymond Lee, 59, of Rocky Mount, died Sunday July 10, 1994. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday Arrington Bussey Chapel.

BRYANT, Dovie Newcomb, 72, of Eagle Rock, died Sunday, July 10, 1994, in a Salem hospital. She was the widow of H. Ewell Bryant and is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Jimmy Vaughn of Eagle Rock; a daughter, Sindy Bryant of Roanoke; sister, Eva All of Eagle Rock; half brother, Phillip Newcomb of Martinsville; special friend, Mark Craig of Roanoke. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Monday evening at the funeral home. Funeral will be Tuesday, July 12, at 2 p.m. at Mount Carmel Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan conducted by the Rev. Mark Abbey. Arrangements by Eagle Rock Funeral Home.

CARTER, Carl William, 65, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, July 9, 1994 at his home. He was born July 6, 1929 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Everett H. and Nannie Drain Carter. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are two sisters, Joyce Trykowski, Buena Vista, Mary E. Edwards, Lorton; two brothers, James E. Carter, Roanoke, Everette H. Carter Jr., Buena Vista. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Green Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Jill Crainshaw. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Lomax Funeral Home.

EDWARDS, Garland J., of High Meadows, Wirtz, died Saturday, July 9, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Inez Minnick Edwards; two sisters, Doris E. Moore, Mary Ann E. Smith, both of Salem; one brother and sister-in-law, Ward and Rose Edwards of Sacramento, Calif. He was the beloved brother-in-law of Jackson H. and Lillian C. Minnick of Salem, Douglas B. and Lettie R. Minnick and Fearnnie M. Luckadoo, all of Christiansburg, Helen M. Martin of Richfield, Salem. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Linda and Dick Stein, their daughters, Lori Ferguson, Susan, Tori and son Quinn. Debra, Bill and Janet Edwards of Sacramento, Calif, Steve and Cathy Minnick, Stacy Minnick, Sherry Barnes, Terry Harless, Laurie and Ronnie Roop; two grand nephews, Jorden Ferguson and Tyler Roop. Also remembered are our close friends and neighbors who loved and supported him with tireless devotion during his long illness. Friends may reach the family at the home of Jack Minnick, 1612 West Main Street, Salem. Memorial services will be held at John M. Oakey and Son, 305 Boulevard Street, Salem, Va. at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 1994. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Blacksburg Road in Christiansburg, Va. following the memorial service in Salem. The Rev. Richard H. Horne will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 1994 from 6 to 8 p.m.

FISHER, Faye Hairfield, 60, of Vinton, died Sunday July 10, 1994. Faye was a native of Roanoke, graduating from William Byrd High School and Mary Washington College. She was formerly a stewardess with Eastern Airlines and was preceded in death by her husband, C. E. ""Bud"" Fisher and her father, Raymond Hairfield. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Dorothy C. Hairfield, Vinton; one daughter, Nancy Fisher, Atlanta, Ga.; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Cindy Fisher, Atlanta, Ga.; two granddaughters, Allie and Tori Fisher; also several aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 1994, in Sherwood Memorial Park, with Dr. William L. Ross officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.

FOSTER, George Eldon, 66, of Newport, died Saturday July 9, 1994 in a Pearisburg hospital following a short illness. Born in Kanawha, Iowa on Nov. 18, 1927, he was a son of the late Floyd W. and Iris Trumbell Foster. George was a retired Chief Hospital Corpsman with the U. S. Navy being a veteran of WW II, Korean War and Vietnam. He was also retired from Roanoke Memorial Hospitals as a radiology engineer. He attended the Newport-Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and was active in the Newport Masonic Lodge AF & AM and Masonic and Shrine Lodges of Florida. Surviving are his wife Nancy Givens Foster; a son, Raym ond Paul Foster, Lilburn, Ga.; two step-children, David Wiseman and his wife Carley, Boones Mill, Sharon Milliron and her husband Robert, Roanoke; a brother, Lloyd Foster and his wife Janice, Eagle Grove, Iowa; four nephews; three step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 13, 1994, at 10 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, Pembroke with the Rev. Alan Thorne officiating. Burial will be in the Ross Cemetery, Craig County. Graveside Masonic rites will be performed by the Newport Masonic Lodge. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Newport Rescue Squad.

HODGES, Edgar M., 68, of Roanoke, died Sunday, July 10, 1994. He was a member of Preston Oaks Baptist Church and was retired from Yellow Freight. He was the founder of ``Senior Citizens Extravaganza'' at Hardee's on Plantation Road. Surviving are his wife, Nadine J. Hodges; one daughter, Melissa G. Hodges, Roanoke; sisters, Evelyn Hubbard, Glade Hill, Lolene Corron, Moneta; brothers, Elwood Hodges, Hardy, Calvin Hodges, Glade Hill; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at Oakey's North Chapel 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Joe Greene will officiate. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. KINGREY, Katherine Falls, 76, of Roanoke, died Sunday, July 10, 1994. She was the widow of George W. Kingrey and was retired from Leggett's. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Betty W. Kingrey, Hardy; grandchildren, Julie Anders, Shawsville, Ronald W. Kingrey, Vinton, Rebecca Goin, Roanoke; four great-grandchildren, Steve C. Anders, James M. Anders, Lindsey B. Kingrey, Patrick S. Goin; one sister, Anna Sutton, Pompano Beach, Fla.. Mrs. Kingrey was a former member of Red Hill Baptist Church and later a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oakey's South Chapel. The Rev. Robert M. LONG, Carl Elwood, 69, of Belspring, died Sunday at his residence. He was a 31 year retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry Company and a veteran of WW II. Surviv ing are his wife of 45 years, Ruby Duncan Long, Belspring; a daughter, Brenda Long; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Bryant Gravley, Parrott; two sons and daughters-in law, Clayton and Wanda Long, Radford, Kenneth and Betty Long, Dublin; two sisters-in-law, Frances Semones, Pulaski, Dorothy Duncan, Christiansburg; a brother-in-law, George Duncan, Christiansburg; his mother-in-law, Nellie Duncan, Christiansburg; six grandchildren, Bruce Sarver, Kenny Kincer, Brandy Long, Becky Gravely and Jason Gravely; three step-grandchildren, Connie Stuart, Bobby Booth, Susan Edmond. SHAKOOR, Malika Ameenah, 72, of Lexington, died Sunday, July 10, 1994, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 25, 1921 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Charles Henry Robinson and Lucy (Franklin) Robinson. Mrs. Shakoor was Muslim by faith since 1962. Survivors include her husband, Delaware Karim Shakoor of Lexington; a sister, Mrs. Christine Theresa Crandon of Lexington; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 1994 in the Williams Funeral Service Chapel, Lexington, with Brother Wali El Amin officiating.
