At Rocky Mount, Roanoke Post 3 West took two games from Franklin County Post 6.
In the first game, a 12-8 victory, Brian Crosswhite and Jason Anderson drove in three runs each and Brian Sells was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI for West (7-4). Patrick Hall (2-1) struck out eight in six innings to earn the win.
West won the second game 14-7 behind the strong offensive efforts of Ben Basham and Jay Stafford. Basham was 4-for-4, scored three times and drove in two runs. Safford was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Ryan Blevins (2-1) pitched five innings and earned the victory. On Saturday, West posted a 5-4 victory over New River in a 10-inning game at Blacksburg. - Staff report
