`CHRISTMAS IN JULY' PLANNED JULY 23

The Humane Society of Montgomery County holds "Christmas in July" on July 23, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., at Wal-Mart, Christiansburg, Kroger and Wades stores in Blacksburg and Christiansburg, and at the New River Valley Mall.

This event is to help support the society's no-kill shelter at I-81 and Virginia 8 in Christiansburg. The shelter will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Each location will have lists of needed items and information, and donations are welcome

A dog wash will be held at the New River Valley Mall location. The Second Time Around store in Patrick Henry Plaza, Blacksburg, will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. offering special deals on Christmas items.
