The fossils are thought to be more than 500,000 years old and could provide clues linking European inhabitants of the period to their African ancestors, Jose Maria Bermudez, a researcher with the National Museum of Science, said Friday.
The finds include fragments of a skull and finger bones from a 13-or 14-year-old child, upper jaw fragments from a 3-or 4-year-old and primitive stone tools, he said.
