MUSEUM ANNOUNCES NEW TRUSTEES, PROMOTIONS

The Art Museum of Western Virginia has announced new members to its board of trustees. They are Wendy Funderburk, Clydenne Glenn, Jay L. Hough, Rose Marie Jones (docent representative), Dr. Robert L. Murray, Howard C. Packett, Valeta Pittman, Catherine Skala, Karen Wilson and Lee Woody (Junior League representative).

Jeff Roberts, formerly director of development, has been named administrative director. Mark Scala, formerly the director of education, is now chief curator at the museum. Roberts and Scala will serve in these positions during the interim period while the board of trustees searches for a new executive director.

Meredith Parry has been promoted to the newly created full-time position of membership coordinator. Parry has been membership associate since September 1993 and will expand her duties to include cultivation of new members and grant writing.

Sheryl Perry has been named director of special events. Before joining the staff, Perry conducted research as edited manuscripts for EDUCORP, a Roanoke computer consulting firm. Perry is a native Roanoker and a graduate of Hollins College.

Jennifer Middleton is the new ArtVenture coordinator. A graduate of Wake Forest University, Middleton has worked with children's programs at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, N.C., and the Cummer Museum in Florida.
