The Bank of New York said Thursday it completed the acquisition of the corporate bond administration business of Richmond-based Central Fidelity Bank, which has operations in the Roanoke Valley.
Terms were not disclosed for the acquisition, which was announced in April and involved the transfer of about 150 bond trustee and agency appointments.
The Bank of New York is among the largest U.S. providers of corporate trust services with more than 16,000 issues representing more than $280 billion in outstanding securities.

Lewis-Gale Clinic Inc. of Salem will open on Aug. 8 a family practice satellite office at 2155 Apperson Drive. The clinic will operate as Lee-Hi Family Practice & Immediate Care. Doctors at the new office are Keith C. Edmunds, Gary O'Hagan, Ella Dickinson Youngblood, Clement Binnings and John E. Sadler III.
Babcock & Wilcox gets DOE contract
McDermott International Inc., an energy services company, said its Babcock & Wilcox unit in Lynchburg has received a $3.3 million contract from the Department of Energy for preliminary development for toroidal field magnets, part of a national effort to develop a fusion reactor. Work will be be done at a Babcock & Wilcox plant in Campbell County.
WYYD nominated as station of year
WYYD, a Roanoke and Lynchburg FM radio station, is one of five stations nominated for Billboard Magazine's national station of the year award. Voting by the broadcast industry will determine the winner, to be announced in August.
