CHRISTIANSBURG - The New River Valley Economic Development Alliance is seeking nominations for the Overly Volunteer of the Year award.

The award, in memory of Don Overly, former chairman of the alliance's finance committee, recognizes a volunteer who has made a significant contribution to the economic development of the New River Valley.

Full-time employees in the field of economic development are not eligible for the award. Call the alliance at 382-2600.

Advisors sought

CHRISTIANSBURG - Montgomery County Public Schools is looking for members of the business community and area residents to serve on an advisory committee for the Workforce Partnership Agreement.

The agreement between schools and local businesses will encourage students to graduate by providing placement services and help businesses to hire qualified graduates.
