Library group seeks books for annual sale
Salem Public Library's Friends of the Library are seeking discarded books for the library's annual book sale.
The sale is held each year as an activity of the Olde Salem Days festival and is one of the friends group's main fund-raising events.
Needed are volumes that book owners no longer want. Revenue from the sale is used for materials or equipment not covered in the library's budget.
Books being donated can be taken to the Salem Library on Main Street in downtown Salem.
The friends group sponsors several other activities on behalf of the library, including assistance in preparing tax returns and collecting Campbell Soup labels, which can be redeemed for various equipment for the library.
