TODAY'S TOPIC: THE DISABLED

COLEMAN: "President Bush signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act, which provided strong protections and guarantees for disabled Americans. We should ensure that the law is applied in a way that removes barriers for the disabled but does not raise costly new barriers for business that will hinder economic growth."

NORTH: "I believe we must make full use of the talents of all of our citizens, including those who may be physically challenged. I support equality of opportunity for those disabled in the work force and oppose discrimination against them."

ROBB: "In 1985, as governor of Virginia, I proudly signed the Virginians with Disabilities Act, which was developed and implemented by my administration. Four years later, as a member of the U.S. Senate, I co-sponsored the Americans with Disabilities Act - legislation similar to our Virginia initiative - which expands the economic freedom of all disabled Americans."

WILDER: "During my administration, Virginia was one of the first states in the union to fully implement the Americans with Disabilities Act, and I believe that the investments made to provide full access to the disabled have been good ones for our society. There is no question that disabled Virginians are a productive and vibrant part of culture, and I am proud that we are now on the road to fully utilizing their talents."
