ETC. Baseball museum
in Salem on Monday
A traveling baseball museum and workshop will make a stop in Salem on Monday. The Traveling Rawlings Sports Caravan will stop at Dominion Dodge from 4-8 p.m.
The free exhibit features baseballs, bats, gloves and uniforms, and includes bats used by career 500-home-run hitters Mickey Mantle, Mike Schmidt, Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson and Willie Mays.
The workshop offers behind-the-scenes looks at creating balls, gloves and bats for major-leaguers. Visitors can watch a professional batmaker transform Northern white ash into a bat or have their Rawlings gloves repaired or personalized.
The traveling exhibit will cover approximately 50,000 miles this year.
