STATE LIQUOR STORES GET LOTTERY TICKETS

Now you can buy liquor and gambling materials in one convenient location. Beginning this week, most of the state's ABC stores are selling instant lottery tickets.

All but 16 of the state's 243 alcoholic beverage stores started offering the service on Monday. The exempted few will serve as a ``study group'' to let the state measure how selling instant lottery tickets affects ABC store business.

In the Roanoke area, the store at 415 Jefferson St. will not sell tickets.

By Oct.1, 140 of the stores plan to sell Lotto, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Cash 5 tickets.
