SALEM 5K, 10K RUNS SET FOR SATURDAY

The 20th annual Salem 5K and 10K distance runs will be held Saturday at Longwood Park on Main Street. Proceeds go to the Community Christmas Store. Registration brochures are available at local fitness centers and sporting goods stores or at the Salem Parks and Recreation Department. Registration packets may be picked up today and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Southwest Virginia Savings Bank in Salem; or call the bank at 983-1426. On race day, packets will be available from 7 to 8 a.m. in Longwood Park.

Entry fee for the race is $15. Make checks payable to the Community Christmas Store and bring them to the Salem Parks and Recreation Department, or mail them to the department to the attention of Teri Atkins at: 216 S. Broad St., Salem, Va. 24153.
