Virginia Tech graduate human factors engineering researcher Julie Lin needs a few seniors for her REMOTE CONTROL USABILITY STUDY. She seeks folks - age 50 to 75 who need reading glasses or use other corrective devices to see up close - to help in a study that's looking to improve the design of those pesky remote controls. "The more the merrier," said Lin, whose project may one day lead to a remote control that people can use without their glasses. Eastman Kodak is funding her study.
Participants are evaluated on their use of two different remote control devices and also get to express their personal preferences, Lin said. The whole process should take no more than 11/2 hours. Those taking part get a Kodak single-use camera for their trouble.
Call Lin at 231-9089 days or at 552-8994 evenings. Transportation is available.
