The resolution offers a laundry list of the area's advantages, including "unparalleled access to interstate highways, water and sewer utilities, clean air, low taxes, low-cost land, excellent schools, a friendly business climate with amicable, accessible local governments, a conscientious work force and close proximity to over 20 institutions of higher education."
The resolution also noted that Southwestern Virginia is "within 250 miles of 40 million people."
To punch up their point, council members went along with David Worrell's recommendation to have the city clerk affix the city's official seal to the final document, which will be signed by Mayor Tom Starnes.
