ROANOKE COLLEGE AUDIENCE LOVES CELLIST

The Kandinsky Trio of Roanoke College kicked off this season's concert series Saturday night with a world-class musical guest.

About 225 concert-goers in the college's Olin Hall auditorium heard the trio perform with cellist Steven Doane of the Eastman School of Music. Doane's most recent CD, of the complete cello works of Gabriel Faure, won the prestigious Diapason d'Or award in France and is receiving wide airplay on classical-music stqations in America.
