LOTTERY CHANGES

Beginning this week, Virginia Lottery numbers will be drawn too late to be available for early editions of the next morning's paper.

The drawings, including Pick 3 and Pick 4 contests, are now held at 10:58 p.m. The change will not affect lottery reports for readers in the Roanoke and New River valleys, as well as Bedford, Craig and Franklin counties. However, Pick 3 and Pick 4 results will no longer be available the next morning to readers in other areas; Monday night's numbers, for example, will be in Wednesday's paper.

Lottery numbers will continue to be available on the newspaper's InfoLine service (Code 7777).

Also, beginning Nov. 2, Cash 5 numbers will be drawn four times a week: on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
