Giles (10-5) had a chance to tie the game at 55 in the final seconds. Heather Wilburn missed a 3-pointer, but Keli Ratcliffe grabbed the rebound. Ratcliffe bobbled the ball and then made the stickback, but time had already expired and Christiansburg (6-9) escaped.
Ohe Blue Demons inside tandem of Jackson and Crystal Moles combined for 41 of Christiansburg's 55 points. Moles finished with a game-high 23 points and Jackson added 18.
The Spartans were led by Kelly Williams, who scored 18 points, and Ratcliffe with 11.

BEDFORD - Sue Cowlbeck scored 19 points and had 16 rebounds to lead the Minnettes to a Seminole District victory over the Golden Eagles.
Cowlbeck scored 17 points after halftime and Shannon Jurkus hit five free throws down the stretch for Liberty (11-4, 11-4). Jurkus finished with 13 points and Amy Baxter had 12.
Beth Davis scored seven points in the third period to help Staunton River (9-5, 9-5) take a 39-38 lead midway through the period.
Stephanie McCarty led the Golden Eagles with 14 points, Courtney Hurd scored 11.
Carroll County 61

BLUEFIELD - Carroll County used fullcourt pressure defense to jump out to a 24-5 first-quarter lead and then held on to defeat Graham in a non-district game.
Graham (5-11) managed to cut the lead to three late in the game, but Jennifer Watkins made four of five free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Cavaliers (12-5) stave off the upset.
Watkins led the Cavaliers with a game-high 16 points. Sarah Puckett added 12.
Graham was led by Kristi Maupin's 13 points. Beverly Profitt added 12 while Tamala Oakes and Angela Webb scored 11 and 10, respectively.

Radford 34
RADFORD - The backcourt tandem of Lori Lyons and Sherry Smith was too much for the Bobcats in a Three Rivers District game.
Lyons and Smith combined for 30 points, many on transition baskets as Auburn (9-5, 2-2) used a pressure defense to force 26 Radford turnovers.
Deanna Dickerson added 12 rebounds for the Eagles.
Radford (7-9, 0-4) got a game-high 19 points from Crystal Hubbard.
Narrows 64

NARROWS - Narrows used a fullcourt man-to-man defense to force many turnovers and jump out to a 25-3 first-quarter lead as the Green Wave moved into a tie for first place in the Mountain Empire District.
Narrows (9-6, 4-1) was led by Melissa Lucas, who scored a game-high 15 points - 13 in the first half. Suzanne Webb scored nine of her 13 in the first two quarters for the Green Wave while Melissa Lawrence added 10 points and 13 assists.
Grayson County (3-10, 2-3) was led by Terri Summer's 10 points.
Floyd County 74

SHAWSVILLE - Floyd County used zone pressure to build up a 24-4 first-quarter lead as the Buffaloes cruised to the Three Rivers District victory.
Leigh-Anne Pursifull scored Floyd's first six points of the game and scored eight of her 12 points in the first quarter. The Buffaloes (14-0, 4-0) were led by Carrie Chaffin, who scored eight of her game-high 18 points in the first quarter.
Laura Harman added 11 points as every Floyd player scored.
Shawsville (6-8, 1-3) was led by Robin Burdette, who scored 10.
Rocky Gap 46
Galax 45
ROCKY GAP - Michelle Sarver hit a driving layup with 15 seconds to play to give Rocky Gap an upset victory over Galax, the top team in the Mountain Empire District.
Trailing by a point, Sarver took the ball into the lane and scored her only points to give Rocky Gap (5-11, 3-2) a 46-45 lead. After a Galax turnover, the Eagles missed a free throw with three seconds to play, but the Tide could only manage a desperation midcourt shot from Tammy Cox.
Cox, who led Galax (11-3, 4-1) with 20 points, injured her ankle on the final play.
Nancy Tupper, the leading scorer in the game with 22 points for Rocky Gap, sank 12 of 14 free throws for the Eagles.
