CRISP, Ruby Elizabeth, 75, of Roanoke, died Sunday, November 6, 1994. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Wayne Owens; three grandchildren, David Owens, Lisa Brookshier and Cheryl Moore; a devoted friend, Archie Bolling; two great-grandchildren, Erin and Luke Brookshier; a sister, Lois Bramlette of Spartansburg, S.C.; several nephews. There will be no vistiation. A private memorial will be held Saturday, November 12, 1994, at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Michael Slaughter officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the West Salem Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangement by Lotz Salem Chapel.

FARMER, Jean C. Smith, 96, of Radford, passed away Saturday, November 5, 1994 at her home. She was a member of Carter Street United Methodist Church in Radford. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bernard (Pete) Farmer and her son, William Gale Farmer. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Muriel Novak, Wyandotte, Mich.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 1994 at 2 p.m. in the Carter Street United Methodist Church in Radford, with the Rev. Harold Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

GUSTAFSON, Margery C., 82, of Roanoke, died Sunday, November 6, 1994. She was born November 16, 1911 in Schenectady, N.Y. and was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Gustafson. Mrs. Gustafson was a co-founder of the Woodlawn United Methodist Pre-School and was a founder and director of the Covenant Presbyterian Pre-School. She was active within the Roanoke Valley area for early childhood development, and was a charter member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she was still active in Su nday School and church activities. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul A. and Sharon Gustafson, Roanoke, and Russell P. Gustafson, New York, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Paul A. Gustafson Jr., Dawn O'Connor, Meredith P. Ray, Kristen B. Gustafson, Allen B. Gustafson; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Osterstock; one brother, Herbert Hagadorn. Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 1994 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James F. Riach officiating. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Memorial Fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church or to the Cave Spring Rescue Squad. HALL, Ella Jones, 90, of 1400 Bryant Street, Clifton Forge, died Sunday morning, November 6, 1994, in the Brian Center Nursing Home, Low Moor. She was born August 15, 1904 in Glen Wilton, a daughter of the late John Ivanhoe and Willie Alice Simpson Jones. Mrs. Hall attended elementary school in Alleghany County and graduated from Clifton Forge High School in 1922. She also attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and the UVA Education Center in Roanoke. She taught school in Louisa from 1923 - 1925. Later she served as a bookkeeper and office manager for Shepherd's Motors until she and her late husband, Oscar B. Hall Jr., started their own business, Hall's General Merchandise, in south Covington. Mrs. Hall worked for several years as a substitute teacher in Clifton Forge and Alleghany County School Systems. Mrs. Hall was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge, the Ladies Bible Class, the Women's Society of Christian Service and the church choir. She was a member of the Clifton Forge Women's Club and the Eastern Star Martha Chapter #21. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar B. Hall Jr. in August of 1980. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ola J. Payne, Roanoke; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who include Elizabeth and Bill Mullins of Clifton Forge. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, with the Rev. William O. Webster and the Rev. W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, Va. Active Pallbearers include R. C. Hall, Johnny Wright, Richard Milhollin, Reg Saville, Charlie Hammond, Dr. Wallace Nunley, Gary Hoke and Corky Taylor. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Central United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

HUNDLEY, Charles Duaine, 60, of 4341 Horseshoe Loop, Dublin, died Saturday night, November 5, 1994, at his home. He was born in Wythe County on June 3, 1934 and he was the son of the late Roy Hundley and Sarah Davidson Hundley. He was a retired employee of Sherwin-Williams Company, Radford, and he was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin Hundley, Walter Hundley, Richard Hundley, R oy Hundley, and by one sister, Edna Louise Kinney. Surviving are his wife, Pansey Slate Hundley, Dublin; son, Darrell Duane Hundley, Dublin; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Lee and Barbara Lawson Hundley, Pulaski; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Lynn and David Lee Herndon, Chesterfield; daughter and fiance , Katrina Michelle Hundley, Dublin, Kirk Suthers, Wytheville; grandchildren, Michael David Herndon, Chesterfield, Kevin Lee Hundley and Katlyn Lane Hundley, both of Pulaski; one sister and brother-in-law, Mamie and Sam Olson, Lancaster, Calif.; two brothers, Raymond (Red) Hundley, Hillsville, Clarence Hundley, Big Stone Gap; and many special friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry C. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, Poplar Camp, Va. LINKENHOKER, Frances Albena, 80, of Roanoke, died Saturday, November 5, 1994, at her home. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a member of the ABWA. She was owner and operator of Frances Beauty Shop for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Linkenhoker. She is survived by one sister, Minnie Almond Irvin of Roanoke; three nephews, Charles Calhoun of Roanoke, Dr. Robert Irvin of Moneta, Clinton Flowers of Franklin, Tenn.; three nieces, Cecilia Robertson, Roanoke, Deloris Sizer of Burnt Chimney, Jo Ann Hale of Charlottesville; a sister-in-law, Susie Flowers of Nashville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 1994, at 10 a.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Billy White officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. McCAMPBELL, Leo Clayton, MD, 71, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, November 5, 1994 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Dr. McCampbell was born in Whiting, Indiana on August 13, 1923, a son of the late Leo Page and Ruth Collins McCampbell. He received his undergraduate studies at Perdue University, Lafayette, Indiana, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Ohio Medical School, served his internship at the University of Wisconsin and residency training at Bethesda Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. After retiring from private practice, Dr. McCampbell worked at the Student Health Services at Virginia Tech. He is survived by his wife, Betty Mosgrove McCampbell; sons, Alan Clay McCampbell, Kinston, N.C., Kevin Mark McCampbell, Blacksburg, and Patrick Brian McCampb ell, Champaign, Ill.; sister, Patricia M. Dilts, Gary, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 1994 at Blacksburg Baptist Church, with Dr. Ray Allen officiating. PAXTON, Dorothy L., 66, of Route 2, Buchanan, passed away Saturday, November 5, 1994, in a Roanoke Hospital. Surviving are her husband, Howard L. Paxton; daughter, Carol Ann Paxton of Roanoke; stepdaughter, Sue Fowler of Roanoke; stepson, Howard L. Paxton Jr. of Troutville; two stepgrandchildren; a brother, Claude Lewis Firebaugh of Salem. SALEEBA, Victoria Ferris, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 5, 1994, in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monsour Elias Saleeba Sr., and a son, Lewis M. Saleeba. Mrs. Saleeba was a member of Saint Elias Catholic Church and is survived by a son, M.E. Saleeba, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Vernon Jolley all of Roanoke; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ellis S. Ferris, Roanoke; four sisters, Fannie Malouf, Rose Doss, Freeda Assaid, Lourice Thomas all of Roanoke, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday from Saint Elias Catholic Church with Father Randy Rule officiating. Entombment will follow in Saint Andrews Diocesan Cemetery. A vigil service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday from Oakey's South Chapel with Father Peter Tran officiating. SCAGGS, Lorraine Shartzer, 76, of Roanoke, died Saturday, November 5, 1994. She and her late husband, William C. Scaggs, owned and operated several businesses in the Cave Spring area for many years, and was a member of the Cave Spring Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and David Johnson, Orlando, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Debbie Scaggs, Michael and Carol Scaggs, all of Roanoke; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mildred and Melvin Martin, Roanoke, Norma Stump, Green Cove Springs, Fla., Betty and Henry Holland, Richmond; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Horton and Hazel Shartzer, Louis ``Jiggs"" and Harriette Shartzer, all of Roanoke, Mahlon Shartzer, Vinton. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Tuesday, November 8, 1994, at Oakey's Downtown Chapel, with Pastor Richard Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. VASS, Millard Montague, 90, of Hillsville, died Saturday, November 5, 1994, at Pulaski Community Hospital. Born December 24, 1903, he was the son of John Daniel and Elva Sawyers Vass. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service, where he had served in Winston Salem, N.C. and Carroll County, Va. Prior joining the Postal Service, he taught three years in the Carroll County School System. He was a charter member of the Hillsville Christian Church, where he served in many leadership capacities. He was a member of the Hillsville Masonic Lodge for 65 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Artie Jane Jenkins Vass, and a son, Joh n Montague Vass. Surviving him are five daughters and four sons-in-law, Opal Bruner, Burlington, N. C., Carol and James Walker, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Mary Alice and J. B. Marshall, Pulaski, Virginia, Wynona and Dearl Hill, Germanton, N.C., and Patsy and Curtis Coulson, Pearisburg, Virginia. Also surviving are one brother, Carbon Vass of Hillsville, Virginia; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on November 7, 1994, 2 p.m. at the Hillsville Christian Church with Rev. Charles Mackey officiating. Interment will follow in the Monta Vista Memorial Gardens, Galax, Virginia.

VIAR, Ernest Edward, 88, of Roanoke, died Sunday, November 6, 1994. He was a member of Ninth Street Church of the Brethren and was a retired employee from Kroger Company, with 40 years service. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.

WHEELING, Diane R. Mrs., 59, of Stafford, formerly of Manassas, Va. and Roanoke, died Sunday, November 6, 1994, at her residence. Among her survivors are her mother, Marie Hurd Rolley of Roanoke. A funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford, Va. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Myers Family Cemetery in Carroll County, Va.

WOLFE, Julia Bulloch, of Eufaula, Ala., died Friday, November 4, 1994. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Allen Bulloch of Eufaula, and the sister of the late Sarah Bulloch Parrott of Roanoke. She is survived by her niece, Sarah Parrott Gwaltney of Charlottesville; and her nephew, John H. Parrott of Roanoke.
