British writer Emma Tennant, author of more than 20 books, has been picked by the Margaret Mitchell estate to write the next sequel to ``Gone With the Wind.'' ``Scarlett'' author Alexandra Ripley declined to do it again.
Tennant knows the drill, having written two sequels to Jane Austen's ``Pride and Prejudice.'' As for her new project, she says ``a tremendous old passion will come up on Scarlett's horizon.''
