Anson County, N.C., is in the process of gathering material for a heritage book. It will contain family geneologies, church and business histories and interesting tidbits relating to the county's history.

Donated art
The 1994 Ronald McDonald House holiday card features art work donated by Roanoke artist Vera Mason Dickerson.
The full-color card, produced from an original watercolor, is printed on deckled-edge paper and comes with matching envelopes. The message inside reads: ``The Spirit of the Season is Love.''
Packages of 20 cards and envelopes are available for $10. For an additional $3, orders will be mailed to purchasers. Cards may be ordered by calling 981-7622.
Showtimers auditions
Auditions for the Showtimers' production of the ``Diary of Anne Frank'' will be held Dec. 17-18 at 2 p.m. at the Showtimers Studio, McVitty Road, Roanoke.
The cast calls for five men and five women. Anne Frank is a young girl of about 12 years old.
