HUNTERS TAKING SOME SHOTS AT PARKWAY PERMIT FEE
The Blue Ridge Parkway is nearly 500 miles long, but not very wide - little
more than a stone's throw in places. Those timbered ridges you see marching
from just beyond the parkway's two-lane blacktop down into the fringes of the
valley often belong to the Jefferson and Geortge Washington national forests.
It is legal to hunt in the national forest; hunters pay to help finance the
management of wildlife there.
