``One of the members of my family is ill and it's important that I prioritize my life with my family in mind,'' Uhler said in a statement.
Uhler's five Virginia teams had an overall record of 71-92. Her best season was 1990, when the Cavaliers finished 20-14 and were second in the ACC Tournament.
``Karen brought an immediate burst of energy and enthusiasm for volleyball when she arrived at the University of Virginia,'' said Craig Littlepage, associate director of athletics for programs at Virginia. ``It's hard to imagine anyone working harder to promote Virginia volleyball than Karen.''
