AILSTOCK, Charles Peyton, 92, of Covington, died Wednesday, November 30, 1994. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday, Loving Funeral Home Chapel.

ATKINS, Lois Cassell, 82, of Atkins, died Wednesday, November 30, 1994, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Atkins was a member of the Davis Memorial United Methodist Church in Atkins and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her husband, Henry Shuler Atkins, Atkins; one sister, Hattie Cassell, Chilhowie; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dallas and Ruby Cassell, Marion, Jake Cassell, Marion, and Mike and Elizabeth Cassell of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will he held Saturday, December 3, 1994, at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Tim Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

BROWN, Lillian Virgin Jones, 72, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, November 29, 1994, in Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem. She was born to the late Henry Jones and Irene Anderson Jones of Bedford County. She joined the New Zion Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member until her health failed her. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Alex Isaiah Brown, Roanoke; one brother, Rufus Jones, Roanoke; two sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Jones, Roanoke, Josephine Jones, Bedford; one brother-in-law, Charles Brown, Maryland; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 4, 1994, at 2 p.m. at the New Zion Baptist Church in Bedford County. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will recieve friends Saturday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Bedford Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Bedford Funeral Home.

CUNNINGHAM, Ethel Darlene, 34, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Cunningham. Survivors include one son, Anthony E. Warren; two daughters, Victoria L. Cunningham, Daminika D. Cunningham; her parents, Samuel W. Sr. and Jeroline Lewis, all of Roanoke; four brothers, Rodnick L. Moore, Florida, Samuel W. Jr., Wilbert W., and Henry E. (Sherry) Lewis, all of Roanoke; four sisters, Kamaline Moore, Eva L. (Tony) Warren, Antoinette M., and E. Maria Lewis, all of Roanoke; mother-in-law, Minerva Cunningham, Bedford; two brothers-in- law, John (Melinda), and Tommy (Jennifer) Cunningham, Bedford; one sister-in-law, Betty L. Cunningham, Bedford; aunts, Eva Boyden, Lena Calhoun, Roanoke, Lorraine Booker, Baltimore, Md., Dorothy Pasley, Rose Moore and Lana Clark, all of Roanoke; uncles, Samuel and Lylburn Moore, Van Clark, Roanoke; a devoted cousin, Janet Moore Davis, Roanoke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Monday 2 p.m. at the Pilgrim Baptist Church (due to construction at the Jerusalem Baptist Church). Dr. J. Eugene Young will officiate with interment in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.

DAVIS, Sharon McKee, 43, of Ferrum, died Wednesday, November 30, 1994, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, C. W. (Dave) Davis; her son, Bryan; her daughter, Lauren; her parents, Edith S. and Harry B. McKee, Raleigh, N.C.; her sisters, Kathy M. Bradford, Efland, N.C., Susan J. McKee, Tulsa, Okla. A memorial service will be conducted at Vaughn Chapel on the Ferrum College campus at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 1994, with the Rev. P. A. Harman officiating. GRAY, Oliver Elliott, 81, of Salem, died Thursday, December 1, 1994. He was an Army World War II veteran and is survived by three brothers and sister-in-laws, David and Itlean Gray, Earl B. and Claudine Gray, all of Salem, Douglas and Ruby Gray of Floyd; a sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Bob Hartman of Roanoke. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 3 at 10 a.m. at East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday.

HALL-SOUTHER, Krista Danielle, 6, of 3302 Tannersway, Richmond, and Rt. 4, Ridgeway, died Monday, November 28, 1994, in Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County, Martinsville, as a result of a car accident. She was born May 22, 1988, in Martinsville and was the daughter of John P. Souther of Ridgeway, and Kathy Hall of Richmond. She attended school at Ridgeway Elementary School in Ridgeway. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Linda Ivery, Richmond; maternal grandfather, Ronald Hall Sr., Roanoke; paternal grandfather, James A. Souther, Ridgeway. Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, December 2, 1994, at Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel, Ridgeway, with Rev. Roger Stanley officiating. Internment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway. Tomlinson Funeral Home, Ridgeway, is in charge of arrangements.

HATCHER, Robert C., (``Bob""), of Richmond, died Tuesday, November 29, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Mary H. Hatcher; his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Pam Hatcher, Mosely; his two brothers, Raymond and James Hatcher; his two sisters, Lena Hatcher and Helen Dyson; his two grandchildren, Corey and Stacy. Mr. Hatcher was a veteran of World War II and a member of Boone Masonic Lodge No. 247. His remains rest at Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home's CHippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd. where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and where funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 2, 1994. HOBACK, Harold N. 64, of Roanoke, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 1, 1994. He was Senior Vice President of Chaney, Thomas, Stephenson & Hill, Inc., and was a retired Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Thompson Hoback; his daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Charles Crutchfield; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Marie Hoback. He is also surviv ed by three granddaughters, Laura Crutchfield, Samantha and Macie Hoback; his sister, Maydene Hoback Young of Cleveland, Ohio; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hester and Frank Hoback. He was a Director for the Virginia Tech Foundation and the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, and was serving as President and Director of Hotel Roanoke Foundation, Inc. He was a past President and Director of Credit Marketing and Management Association and also served as Chairman of the Legislative Committee. Mr. Hoback was awarded the Virginia Tech Alumni Association ``Alumni Distinguished Service Award"" in 1993. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, 1994, at Oakey's North Chapel, 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Stonewall Cemetery, Copper Hill, Va. KYER, Mabel McDermott, 96, of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., died Wednesday, November 30, 1994, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. June Houseman of Roanoke, Va., following a short illness. She was born June 17, 1898 in Greenbrier Co., a daughter of the late William Calvin and Carrie Louella Dean McDermott. She was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, White Sulphur Springs, circle number two and the oldest living member of the church. She was a charter member of Chapter 148, Order of the Eastern Star and was past Worthy Matron of the White Sulphur Springs chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hutton Kyer in 1965 and two d aughters, Isadora Kyer and Jenny Lee Meadows. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 1994, in the First Presbyterian Church, White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Ben Gurley officiating. Interment will be in the Alvon Presbyterian Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs. MILLER, Virginia Bias, 85, of Roanoke, died Thursday, December 1, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Miller and is survived by two sisters, Evelyn B. Norton of Roanoke, Alice B. Britt of Havelock, N.C.; great-nephew, Richard E. O'Dell of Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Marian M. Brockus of Huntington, W.Va., Mary Lee M. Coulter of Miami, Fla. A cryptside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W.Va. 1 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.

SEWARD, Helen Kevan, 96, of Marion, widow of Charles B. Seward Sr., died Thursday, December 1, 1994 in a Private Christian Home in Riverside. Mrs. Seward was a longtime resident of Marion,Va., and a devoted member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was formerly employed as a house mother in the university system, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is survived by two daughters Helen Seward Dallen, Ocala, Florida, Peggy Seward Miles, Marion; one son, Charles B. Seward, Marion. She is also survived by one sister, Rosa Kevan Walker, Marion; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, 1994, 2 p.m, at Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Michael J. Zumpf officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. STIMELING, Stuart B., 81, of New Castle, died Wednesday, November 30, 1994, in a Salem hospital. He is survived by a daughter, Ramona Dixon, Roanoke; three sons, Stephen R. Stimeling, Roanoke, Wesley H. (Sonny) Stimeling, Peter J. Stimeling, both of Goodview; ten grandchildren, Cindy, Cliff, Susan, April, Sally, Ginnie, Steve, Stuart, Crystal, and Samantha; two great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Rhianon. There will be a graveside service 11 a.m. Saturday at the family cemetery on Johns Creek. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Boitnott Funeral Home.
