The Blacksburg Rotary Club on Thursday named Wills its 1994 Montgomery County Citizen of the Year.
"She is a caring individual who works to help others and never brags about what she does," said club member Bob Smith as he presented the award.
Wills has served for many years as chairwoman of the operating committee for the Interfaith Food Pantry.
She is also an active member of Christ Episcopal Church where she has just completed a three-year term on the vestry. She also works on a church outreach committee that works to provide local services to the needy.
Wills sets an example for the committee with her work with the food pantry and with the Montgomery County Christmas Store, where she heads up its used toy section. She also works with the Montgomery County Community Shelter where her church sponsors one family per year.
Each year the Blacksburg Rotary Club presents this award to a non-Rotarian whose efforts benefit the community.
"In her quiet way, she has made a wonderful contribution to our community," Smith said in presenting a plaque to Wills at a Rotary luncheon Thursday.
