HUMANE SOCIETY TO RAISE FUNDS

The Humane Society of Montgomery County holds its "Christmas in December" fund-raising event Saturday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at several locations:

Kroger and Wades supermarkets, Blacksburg and Christiansburg.

Hills department store, Christiansburg.

Second Time Around store, Gables Shopping Center, South Main Street, Blacksburg.

During the event, the society seeks donation of cash, pet care supplies and pet food for the animals in the society's no-kill shelter this winter. The shelter open house also is Saturday, Dec. 10.

The Second Time Around store will feature bargains on Christmas items. Store hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
