A full-size electric pickup truck that uses a General Electric control system made by GE Drive Systems in Salem was included in the Electric Vehicle Cavalcade of Cars down Main Street USA at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.
The truck, the Baker EV100, is made by Baker ElectroMotive of Richmond. It appeared with other vehicles made by General Motors, Ford, Peugeot, Toyota and Mazda.
The parade last week kicked off the Electric Vehicle Symposium and Public Exposition at Disneyland. More than 100 international exhibitors are featured.

Radford University has activated Centres Extend, an enhancement of its telephone service that provides special rates for calls between its switchboard and Roanoke-area numbers. For Roanoke businesses, vendors and prospective students, the number 857-8920 connects to Radford University's offices. Calls will not be transferred to Radford's residence hall phones, however.
VTLS Inc., a Blacksburg company specializing in library automation systems, has developed the 3M SelfCheck System, which allows library patrons to perform routine checkout of materials without the help of circulation staff.
