GIFT HONORS HER WISH FOR NO TEARS

Gerald Carter, general manager of Holiday Inn-Tanglewood, had just returned from Helen Carson's funeral when he sent his contribution to the Good Neighbors Fund in her memory.

Four years ago Carson had come to work for Carter because he needed an administrative assistant to organize his files and run the office. Carson said she would stay until she got the files straight. Four years later she was still there, keeping things running smoothly and cheerfully taking care of the needs of their guests.

At the funeral, a message from Carson was read: "Please remember me with smiles and laughter. If you can only remember me with tears, do not remember me at all."

The service was uplifting, reflecting Carson's joyous philosophy of living.

"During this time of holiday cheer," Carter continued, "it is appropriate that we salute such a woman."
