OFFICER OUT OF HOSPITAL AFTER STABBING

A town police officer who was stabbed Thursday morning has been released from the hospital.

John Anthony Goad, 22, received severe stab wounds to his inner right forearm and the back of his head just after midnight Thursday as he tried to apprehend a man who was trying to break into an ex-girlfriend's home, police said.

Goad spent Thursday in Pulaski Community Hospital but was released that evening. He attended an employee luncheon Friday, Commander Ed Hogston said.

Kevin Bradley May, 29, of Draper, has been charged with malicious wounding of a police officer, resisting arrest and breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony.

He was being held in the Pulaski County Jail.
