Ben Peete sank four free throws in the last minute and a half to help Northside hold off E.C. Glass 60-58 in a non-district boys' basketball game at Northside Thursday night.

Peete, a junior transfer from Memphis, scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half as the Vikings (3-1) kept the Hilltoppers (2-4) at bay.

GW-Danville 64

Matt Matheny scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds as host Cave Spring won its third straight game by avenging an earlier non-district loss to GW-Danville.

Cave Spring (4-3) led 39-25 at halftime before the Eagles (2-4) rallied.

Pulaski County 78

Roanoke Catholic 52

Eric Webb scored a game-high 33 points and Pulaski County's zone defense denied host Roanoke Catholic any access to the lane in this non-district game.

Roanoke Catholic (1-4) trailed only 20-15 after one quarter, but Webb scored 11 of his points in a second period in which the Celtics were outscored 21-10.

Joseph McClinton scored 24 points as the Chiefs downed the Raiders in a semifinal game of the North Cross Invitational.

North Cross plays Lynchburg Christian Academy tonight at 5:30 in the fifth-place game. Carlisle will play Glenvar tonight at 8:30 p.m. for the championship.
