GRAYSON SEARCH

A search is underway to locate the former officers and enlisted men who served on the U.S.S. Grayson (DD435), a World War II destroyer. A reunion of Grayson personnel is planned for Oct. 24-26 in Las Vegas.

On Oct. 18, 1942, the ship picked up 63 survivors from the Grayson's ship, the U.S.S. Meredith, which had been torpedoed and sunk. On Oct. 13, 1944, the crew rescued 200 survivors of the U.S.S. Houston, which had been torpedoed off the coast of Formosa.

The reunion committee extends an invitation to the Meredith and Houston survivors to attend the festivities.
