Salem families are needed to host a foreign exchange student from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Germany, Poland or Russia.
Teen-agers will arrive this month to spend five months with American families. Pat Russell, area representative for the not-for-profit Academic Year in America will interview families who wish to host a boy or girl age 15 to 18.
The students are screened for their English and academic abilities and arrive with their own health insurance and spending money.
Host families provide the student with a bed, a place to study and two meals a day.
Families can request a girl or a boy who best fits their lifestyles and interests.
Interested families are invited to call Russell at 362-7928, or Heidi Burmeister at 1-800-322-4678 at ext. 5407.
