SCC SEEKS COMMENT ON WIDER CALLING AREA

The State Corporation Commission is seeking comment from Bell Atlantic's customers in the Roanoke exchange on a proposal for expanded local calling between the Roanoke and Bedford exchanges.

Bell Atlantic recently completed a study of what the added costs would be to residential and business customers in the Roanoke exchange if the local calling area were expanded to include the Bedford exchange.
