ROBBER TAKES $10, STABS ROANOKE MAN

A 39-year-old Southwest Roanoke man was stabbed and robbed about 1:45 a.m. Sunday as he walked from Marshall Avenue to Day Avenue, police said. The assailant stabbed the victim in the face, neck and shoulder after taking $10. The victim was treated at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley.

In other incidents, police said a man stabbed a 17-year-old Vinton girl in the right forearm about 9 p.m. Saturday after he took the gold necklace she was wearing. The girl, who did not know her assailant, was approached as she visited a friend on Gandy Drive in the Lincoln Terrace housing development. She was treated at Community Hospital. The chain was valued at $200.

About 6:55 p.m. Friday, a 17-year-old Northwest Roanoke girl was robbed as she sold doughnuts door-to-door in Lincoln Terrace. A man looked as if he was going to buy some doughnuts, but then pushed the girl and placed his hand in her pocket trying to get her money, police said.

A man who tried to help the girl retrieved about $30 of the money. The robber ran away, police said.
