VINTON MAN SHOT TWICE OVER MONEY

A Vinton man is in critical condition after being shot twice Friday night, when he refused to give money to two teen-agers he said.

Marvin R. Trollinger, 27, was sitting in his parked pickup truck on the side of 16th street Northwest about 9 p.m., according to a Roanoke Police Department news release. =r

Trollinger told police he was parked in the area for no special reason when two teen-age boys walked up to his car demanding money, the release said.

When Trollinger told the teens he didn't have any money, one of the boys pulled out a revolver and shot Trollinger in the left arm and in the back, Trollinger said.

Trollinger was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where hospital administrator M.W. Sandridge said he was in serious but stable condition Sunday night.
