Mary Crawford, press secretary for the Republican committee, said her group works hard to get the GOP viewpoint out - to talk-show hosts and other media - but hardly controls them.
Clinton, addressing a union group, said conservative radio talkers and politicians were spreading ``propaganda'' in an effort to return to government policies of the 1980s and ``tip the balance on the side of those who already have the power and wealth.''
``Why is it that we are dissatisfied, unhappy, insecure? And why do we insist upon taking it out on each other?'' Clinton asked.
Clinton recounted meeting a construction worker in San Diego who expressed his gratitude for President Clinton's work, but warned her against speaking with other workers at the site. ``Don't waste your time,'' she was told. ``They listen to Limbaugh all day'' - a reference to talk-show host Rush Limbaugh.
